Dr.
Audrey Siow's Unique Approach:
 |
The primary goal
with all patients who present to me is to determine,
to the best of my ability, the cause of your health
concern. This is important, because just treating
symptoms without addressing the cause of the problem
will not provide the long-term relief you are
seeking. |
The goal of most health care professionals is to
provide treatment to return you to your pre-injury
status. Implicit in this goal is the assumption that
your pre-injury state was your optimum level of well-being
and function.
Dr. Audrey's view is that your body has been on
the decline long before you experienced the injury,
illness and pain. The injury, illness and pain was
only a wake up call for you to pause and take stock
of what has been taking place with your life-mind,
body and spirit. Returning you to your pre-injury
status without providing you the tools for a newer
and higher way of functioning only serves to help
perpetuate the same reason for seeking help in the
first place.
Her unique objectives are to:
 |
1. Help you understand the anatomy of your
injury and how it relates to your decreased
level of well-being and function.
2. Help your body re-connect with your nervous
system which is the main controlling system
of your body, so that real healing at the core
can take place.
3. Help you learn new ways of operating and
functioning at a higher level of efficiency
so that your overall life no longer has a place
for injury or illness.
4. Help your internal experience of living
reflect a higher quality of wellness and life
enjoyment. |
To help achieve these goals, you will first undergo a thorough Chiropractic evaluation. This evaluation will include an initial history/consultation to discuss your problem in detail. Particular attention will be paid to the musculoskeletal system and its relationship to the nervous system. Following this consultation, you will undergo a comprehensive Chiropractic, Orthopedic and Neurologic examination to assist in identifying the cause of your problem. When deemed necessary, X-ray or laboratory testing will be recommended to aid in better identifying the source of your problem.
Following this examination, should you have a problem that Chiropractic science can address, you will be accepted as a patient. Initial care may then be started at this point. At any time during this process, should a medical evaluation be necessary, you will be gladly referred to your personal primary care physician.
At this stage, the findings of the examination will be presented to you. Dr. Audrey will explain each phase of your treatment program to you, so that you will understand all that is required to achieve maximum improvement.
All patients are different and should be treated as individuals. Dr. Audrey strongly believes that patients who
1. Are well informed and
2. Are willing to be partners with their doctor in addressing their health issues, receive a higher quality of care than patients who simply defer all decisions to their health care provider.
Through our partnership in health, we will be able to find real solutions to your health concerns which will result in direct experience of well-being and optimum performance in your life.
In essence, Dr. Audrey helps you achieve greater well-being and a higher level of function through:
